Editable QR-code generator

Print the QR code once. Change the link later.

Put a QR code on a poster, business card, table sign or product insert. When the website destination changes, update your saved code instead of replacing the printed design.

Try the example without an account. Save online when you are ready.

Keep your printed materials useful

The code points to a saved VikingTools link. Update its destination when a campaign, page or menu moves.

02

Make the next scan go to the right place

Save the new website address in your QR archive, then scan the printed code to check the result.

03

Find your codes again

Your account’s QR library keeps saved codes together so you can reopen them and manage their destinations.

How it works

A small first project makes it easier to check every step before sharing your work.

Read the practical guides ↗
  1. 1

Sign in and enter a destination

Create an editable website code, give it a useful name and enter the website address it should open.

  2. 2

    Download and test your code

Save the code, download its image and scan it on a phone before printing a large batch. Keep good contrast and clear space around it.

  3. 3

    Update from your archive

Reopen the saved code when the destination changes. Save the new address and scan the original printed code again.

02 /

Your QR archive is where updates happen

Sign in to create and manage hosted editable codes in your QR library. Reopen a saved code to update its website destination. The printed code’s saved link stays the same while its destination changes. Editable codes depend on the VikingTools redirect service; keep that in mind for long-lived printed materials. Deleting a code removes its hosted redirect.

A real tool. An isolated example.

This is sample content. Menu orders and editable QR changes are local simulations; no real orders, payments or hosted codes are created. The knitting example saves separately from your ordinary pattern.

ONE CODE. NEW DESTINATIONS.

Change the link. Keep the QR code.

Try an editable website code: change its destination, save, then simulate a scan. The printed code stays the same.

Good to know

Can any existing QR code be made editable?

No. A static code contains its destination directly. An editable code must be created with a hosted link from the start. Updating that link’s destination is what makes later changes possible.

Does the example create a real hosted code?

No. The example simulates destination updates locally. Sign in to create a saved editable code that works outside the demonstration.

Should I use a static or editable QR code?

Use a static code if its address will not change and you want the code to point directly there. Choose an editable code when changing destinations without reprinting is useful.
